We listen, act, and transform
Darla Barnes is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas and a career educator with more than twenty years of experience as a teacher and administrator. She holds a Doctorate in Education and continues to serve in the field, bringing a deep, practical understanding of how people learn, grow, and navigate the systems — families, schools, and workplaces — that shape their lives.
Throughout her clinical training and internship, Darla has worked with couples, adults, teens, and children, addressing concerns ranging from anxiety and life transitions to communication, identity, behavior, and relational repair. With children and adolescents, she draws on a variety of evidence-informed approaches — including play therapy, expressive and creative modalities, and developmentally attuned talk therapy — to meet each young client in the language they know best.
Darla believes the therapeutic relationship is a true collaboration, grounded in trust, curiosity, and respect for each person's story. Whether you're navigating a difficult season on your own, sitting beside your partner in a hard conversation, or supporting your child through something big, she brings warmth, honesty, and steady, professional presence to the work.
